Dear ,

Welcome to the October 2025 Edition of the MPG Newsletter!

This month, we have seen MIPEX 2025 continue to spark media attention, with 18 new articles published across Europe. From policy debates to practical reforms, MIPEX remains a key reference point for understanding how integration policies are evolving, and where they still fall short.

As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, we are highlighting MPG’s long-standing commitment to inclusion, evidence, and collaboration. That legacy continues today through projects like ConnACT, which brought our team to Italy and Malta this month to explore innovative approaches to adult education and migrant inclusion. From Bologna’s intercultural policies to Malta’s language and skills training, these visits showcased transferable practices worth sharing.

Meanwhile in Munich, the INNOVATE project brought partners together to strengthen support for migrant entrepreneurship, with a focus on sustainability, co-design with migrants, and better coordination across local ecosystems.

We also invite you to have your say on the Migrant Integration Hub, the successor to the European Website on Integration (EWSI),  as the European Commission gathers feedback to shape its future. Whether you’re a regular user or new to the platform, your insights matter.

The European Network of Legal Experts has released all its 2025 country reports on non-discrimination law, offering detailed analysis of how Member States are implementing EU equality directives. The full set is now available for all 27 EU countries.

We will be back next month with more updates.
Until then, thanks for being part of our journey.

Warm regards,

Isabelle Chopin, Director of MPG

This October, as part of MPG’s 30th anniversary, we continue sharing reflections from people who’ve shaped Europe’s conversations on inclusion, participation, and lived experience. Their work is rooted in practice, whether through community action, policymaking, or research, and reminds us that real change comes from listening, showing up, and staying committed.

We’re proud to share insights from:

The European Commission is inviting feedback to improve the new Migrant Integration Hub, formerly the European Website on Integration (EWSI), the EU’s central resource on migrant integration. Whether you’ve used EWSI before or are new to the Hub, your insights are essential to shape its future content and usability. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by 31 October (Friday, Brussels time) and help strengthen this key platform for integration knowledge and collaboration across the EU.

The European Network of Legal Experts in Gender Equality and Non-discrimination continued publishing its 2025 country reports, covering policy and legal developments on the national level between 1 January 2024 and 1 January 2025. The reports assess how EU Member States transpose and implement the Racial Equality and Employment Equality Directives. Available now for all 27 EU countries.

Within the ConnACT - Connecting through Adult Community Training project, MPG’s Carmine Conte and Mojib Atal joined partners from Finland and Malta for a study visit across Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The delegation explored local and regional migrant inclusion strategies, from Bologna’s intercultural policies to Ravenna’s reception system and Reggio Emilia’s anti-racism and community initiatives. The visit highlighted transferable good practices in adult education and integration.

As part of the ConnACT - Connecting through Adult Community Training project, MPG’s Alexander Wolffhardt and Mojib Atal joined partners from Italy and Finland for a study visit to Malta. Hosted by the Human Rights Directorate, the delegation explored innovative approaches to migrant integration, adult education, and anti-racism. Meetings with government bodies and civil society showcased Malta’s strong focus on language learning, skills training, and inclusive community initiatives.

On 24 October, MPG joined partners from Munich and Turin for the INNOVATE transnational meeting, focused on advancing support for migrant entrepreneurship. Participants, including local authorities, NGOs, and experts, discussed ways to make initiatives more sustainable, coordinated, and inclusive. Key themes included embedding successful actions into local systems, fostering trust and co-design with migrants, and strengthening cooperation between public, private, and financial actors to build lasting, equitable entrepreneurship ecosystems.
